"I remember Ina remarking about the parakeet...that when she set the table, the parakeet would fly onto the table and proceed to have sex with the spoons!!!  Forty plus years ago I didn’t know about parakeets and thought it was strange....  Now I know the parakeet saw himself in reflection in the bowl of the spoon....and we all know the terminology “bird brain”...and that even wild birds will “fight” with their reflection in a window, etc."
